Finding Katie; 101

I have to pull up a separate page again so I can comment along the way. This is so fun. I LOVE your header. LOVE it.

So do you mind if I first mention the ones I've also had on my mind lately?

The retainer-I was so motivated to do this a few months ago-started-and left it at my parents house. (I hope-if its not there, I don't know where it is.) Just this MORNING I was thinking I've got to do this and the teeth whitener before August. I think we have an upcoming wedding in the fam.

I've heard about the water bottle thing only using a brick. I'd be interested to know how it works for you.

In the last week I've been thinking that I really need to learn how to make my mother's rolls!

Oh, I should REALLY try to do your #21-the laundry folding. That would instantly improve the quality of life in this household.

Love your #32-monthly craft. Go girl-#36! 42-WAHOOO AH!! I went to an antique store for the FIRST time this past weekend and went nuts. AH. Seriously awesome.

KATIE. I'm trying to learn the functions on my camera! After an experience last night (that I just wrote a mini post about) I decided I might even be able to make myself read the darn manual!

I so love your homemade Valentine idea. I've intended to do that for years-even purchasing stuff for it!!

I love your list. I think its great that you're sharing it. After my little health scare I've been thinking of a list I made in HS-a list to do before I die. I've actually been able to do some. But I was thinking that I should revisit it and make sure I do some specific ones this year.

You can bet I'll be checking back. What a grand idea.

This is such a great idea! I can't wait to see your progress on it! Maybe after I'm released from YW and not doing Personal Progress anymore I'll have to give it a shot--you're right, much more fun than Personal Progress.

And the fold laundry goal... I SO need to do that one. I have 2 loads that need to be folded and have NO motivation to do it!

This is a great list. I might have to copy your idea and even some of the items. I'm not sure I'm brave enough to post it though (it's the whole embarrassment thing).
Your idea of a party for no reason is great. Of course you won't remember it but when you and Michael were in school and Jeff was the only one home, he and I would do that on occasion. I even went so far as to have a few cheap gifts stashed in my closet and I'd wrap them up and have a real party.

Several years ago when I was RS president, we put together a program with the same idea. It was all service oriented...service to the family, ward, neighborhood, and community. It was really motivating to me and I loved feeling like I was making improvements and accomplishing worthwhile things.

Oh Katie...you are so inspirational. Its funny, we must be going through the same things in our lives, because I have been working on some of these things lately. It feels so good to feel like I am actually accomplishing something.

I like the Disneyland idea...I live 4 miles away from Disneyland, and I hope that if you come all the way here to go to Disneyland that you are going to see your friend Traci.

I am contemplating on whether to post the things I have been working on, so I can do this with you. I just need to confidence to do it!

Just to share, one thing I have on my list is to have a dance party every week day morning before we start the day. I have been doing it the last couple of days and it really starts the day off right instead of worrying about what I have to get done...WE DANCE!!

I love the idea!! My friend, Laura, whose blog you can link to made a list a few posts ago- it is very inspirational too! I am a bit overwhelmed at the moment to start my own, but rest assured, you have planted a good seed in my brain for the near future. I am already thinking of things....
Ouch, that hurts!
I am a tad nervous to see what I will come up with! I LOVED your list!!

I, like Traci have many goals in common with you. Love the list and I am compiling one of my own.

OK, you have a great list! I don't know if I could even think of 101 things to do... how sad. I should be able to. It just may take me an entire night to do so!

Slick list there, Katie! Some way cool stuff that I'm realizing that I ought to do also. Not the least of which are health-related. I'm living the bachelor life to its fullest, which includes such extravagances as eating out for almost every meal. Not conducive to good health!
Farmers Markets are so cool! I used to buy there all the time on my mission (there were a lot of rural areas that had some good ones!) But two things under you going green thing you might want to know. First, if you are doing organic meals for yourself, GREAT! But turns out that they may not be as helpful for the environment as non-organics. See this. Number two, be careful about placement of those CFL bulbs. They last much longer and use way less energy, but they also have some Mercury in them. Meaning if one of your kids knocks one over and it breaks, it can be VERY dangerous. Plus, some people have theorized that because of the mercury, they could pollute more than regular bulbs in the long run. I haven't seen anything to really confirm or deny this yet, but it's a concern. But make sure to put them in spots that the kids can't break them.
Anyway, have fun with your list!

I've never heard of soda bottles in the tank. So, do you put a full, unopened bottle in the tank to make the water go up so you're kind of tricking the tank into thinking it emptied out to refill?

I love your list. And I love how organized it is.
